I’m Doug Mackay, Managing Director of Collingwood Executive Search, a specialist executive recruitment firm based in the North-West of England. Since 1998, I’ve been helping organisations from start-ups to global corporates, across the UK, Europe and North America, to attract and retain outstanding leadership talent. In 2005, I co-founded Collingwood with my wife, Claire Mackay, to deliver a values-driven approach to executive search and leadership recruitment. We have enjoyed an amazing journey that has now passed 20 years and have plenty of stories stored to write our memoirs in a few years! From being approached to partner the likes of the RNLI and Mitsubishi through to being on phenomenal growth journeys with several entrepreneurs.

I co-founded Collingwood with Doug Mackay 20 years ago and have been part of the business since day one. Launching Collingwood gave me the opportunity to return to work after a career break, build something from the ground up, and maintain a healthy balance between family and professional life.

I joined Collingwood in June 2024 as an Executive Search Delivery Consultant, helping to find exceptional talent for our clients. I cover multiple industries, but I predominantly focus on delivering value within the Digital Health & Medical Technology Sector.

I joined Collingwood as an Executive Search Resourcer in September 2022, supporting our Consultants in identifying and engaging the best talent in the market. With a background in personal banking, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping people navigate key life changes, which I now bring into the world of executive recruitment.

Since joining Collingwood Executive Search in June 2021, I have taken on a dynamic role that spans both Operations and Marketing. I love the variety of my job and getting to wear multiple hats, helping to refine our internal processes, support the delivery of our assignments, and helping to shape our marketing strategy.

I support our Research Team and Consultants in finding potential talent to solve our clients needs in several different industries including technology, building products and construction, and healthcare. As well as this, support the businesses Marketing initiatives, helping to drive and develop our strategic goals.
