Poppy Rathbone Executive Search Resourcer
I joined Collingwood as an Executive Search Resourcer in September 2022, supporting our Executive Consultants in identifying and engaging the best talent in the market. With a background in personal banking, I’ve developed a strong passion for helping people navigate key life changes, which I now bring into the world of executive recruitment.
About Me
I’ve always been fascinated by the world of recruitment, but I’d never had the chance to build a career in it, until now. I love helping people, both inside and outside of work.
At sixth form, I studied Psychology, Sociology and Business Studies, subjects that really sparked my interest in people, behaviour and the world of work. Even then, I just wasn’t sure which direction to take, and I knew university wasn’t the right path for me.
After leaving sixth form, I continued working at the restaurant I’d been part of since I was 16 and eventually became a supervisor. From there, I was offered the chance to move into banking, where I developed my career as a Personal Banker and spent 8½ years building experience, confidence and strong people skills.
Outside of Work
I’m very family oriented and love spending time with my friends. I’m also a big foodie, so I enjoy cooking and treating myself to the occasional meal out, usually after a long dog walk in the Cheshire countryside.
What I like most here
I love that we have the opportunity to change people’s lives. A job is such a big part of someone’s world, you spend most of your time in your role and with your colleagues, so you deserve to be happy in it. It still amazes me that I get to play such a significant part in helping someone find that happiness. Seeing individuals I’ve headhunted thrive in a new environment will always feel incredibly special to me.
