My Journey into Executive Search

I have a 2:i BA (Hons) in Business Studies, specialising in marketing and French, from Birmingham Polytechnic. My degree included a work placement year in France with Xerox, where I first met Claire. My career in executive recruitment began unexpectedly when I applied for a sales role with a Warrington based executive search firm, only to be offered a place on their graduate scheme. That opportunity launched my career in executive search consultancy.

At Collingwood, I lead our sales and marketing strategy, working closely with leadership teams to design recruitment solutions that build high-performing teams. Our “boutique” consultancy has grown into a trusted strategic talent partner for businesses looking to recruit and develop exceptional leaders across the UK and internationally.

I’m passionate about giving back to my community. For over 12 years, I coached youth football teams in Cheshire, and I’m also a lifelong Liverpool FC supporter and became a season ticket holder in 2017. As a Scotsman, I was also born with a golf club in my hand, play regularly and my lowest handicap was 4.

During the 2020 lockdown, I volunteered with a telephone befriending service, supporting isolated individuals across the UK, a rewarding experience that reinforced my belief in the power of connection.

What inspires me every day is leading a team that values collaboration, personal growth, and client success. Seeing our consultants deliver outstanding results and build long-term recruitment partnerships is what makes Collingwood unique.
