About me

Joining Collingwood Search in April 2021 as a Resourcer, Maria has a passion for talking to people and helping to positively change their lives through recruitment.


After completing my degree for International tourism and hospitality management and an MA in Business Management Hospitality in Edinburgh, I started my career straight away.

Working as a receptionist for a boutique hotel in Spain initially before moving into a commercial managers position. In 2015, I moved to Manchester to work for a prestigious Spanish hotel chain as a sales coordinator and ended my work in there as Senior Events Executive in the Revenue Department.

I recently had the opportunity to step into recruitment. Having met a few recruiters over the last years made me realised the impact that a well thought recruitment activity can make to the success of a company. I have always loved talking to people and this role gives me the opportunity to help change people’s lives positively.

What do you like most about your job?

Within my role at Collingwood I partner closely with the Executive Search Consultants, and am responsible for identifying and engaging with the most skilled talent across the US and EMEA regions.

I love working in a dynamic environment and am intrigued by the different types of projects. I can virtually travel around the world identifying talent starting the day in Berlin and then moving to another project in Toronto by lunch time! Helping so many different organisations find diverse talent really motivates me.

Outside of work

I love long walks with my family and my dog, Charlotte. I enjoy yoga, swimming, reading – usually historical novels, fiction and lifestyle books - and learning new languages.

I speak Spanish, English, Italian and a bit of French!
