Our Recruitment Process
The first stage in our process is to hold an initial meeting to understand your needs; learn about your company, your journey so far and future business aspirations.
This meeting will be a chance for you to ensure Collingwood’s skills, expertise and approach meet your expectations and needs.
From here, we will draw up a proposal detailing our understanding, initial thoughts, insights and advice in terms of market and role. We will also estimate project timescales and suggest terms reflecting your needs and requirements.
Before we engage with the candidate market we meet key stakeholders to gain a comprehensive understanding of your company, your people, business strategy, organisation structure, culture and the role to be appointed.
We use this meeting to gain a thorough understanding of the skills, experience, behaviours and the future career potential of your ideal candidate. We use this information to produce a detailed assignment specification to share with interested candidates.
This meeting can often include a behavioural assessment to benchmark employees, a team or the board to ensure we appoint an individual who will fit culturally within your business.
Using our sector expertise and research we will write and agree a detailed strategy confirming how we will identify, engage with and attract sought individuals and the milestones that we will deliver against.
Effective engagement is the key to our success. We are your brand ambassadors, our approach is that by doing the right thing by candidates, we will achieve the right results for everyone.
We will design and agree an engagement strategy for you - to create frequent, open, intelligence-based conversations that will allow us to support your decision-making.
The next stage involves assessing candidates through face to face competency and behaviourally-based interviews that are supported by 3rd party, accredited assessments.
We seek to deliver our candidate shortlists face to face with you. In addition to the candidate's original CV, we provide detailed interview notes and objective knowledge of each individual. Our aim is for you to get to know the candidates before you meet them, in order to maximise the time you invest in the selection process.
Once you have identified which candidates you want to appoint, we work with you to advise on a remuneration package that will meet both the candidate expectations and ultimately your objective.
We act as the facilitator, securing a verbal acceptance of the offer, obtaining references where required, and managing the process through to signed acceptance and commencement of employment.
A successful appointment is not the end of the journey for us. From here, we have a defined communication plan both for our client and for the appointed candidate. This is to ensure that everyone derives value and success moving forward and that any issues are identified and resolved quickly and effectively.
