The Client

Our client is a £150 million European cable manufacturing business providing technology solutions for infrastructure across rail, telecoms, cable TV and buildings sectors. They are a very successful and rapidly growing business founded on innovation and customer excellence.

The Business Challenge

Having acquired a manufacturing business in Northern Spain, the group committed to a significant investment to modernise the plant and introduce world-class manufacturing.

The Role

To lead this project our client needed a proven culture change manager with a track record of implementing world-class manufacturing in a well-established environment. The client also wanted an individual who had worked for a US or UK business and worked with their business philosophies and ethos. No one within the newly acquired company met the brief so the decision was made to recruit from outside the business.

The Solution

Collingwood combined headhunting and advertising led selection to identify candidates. The headhunting focused on candidates from the automotive manufacturing sector whilst advertising attracted individuals from other sectors associated with best practice and world-class manufacturing. We supported the process with behavioural profiling of all shortlisted candidates.

The Result

Collingwood's consultants interviewed all candidates in Spain, presented a shortlist of 7 from which a successful appointment was made.
