An autonomous £30 million subsidiary of a $multi-billion US parent, our client is a well established manufacturer of retailer brand and tertiary household chemical products. Products include paints, polish, de-icer, shampoos, shower gels, air fresheners and bulk disinfectants etc.
Objective
The company's sales team was very well established and made up of account managers who are very good at sustaining and maximising sales from existing customers. The Commercial Director created a new role for a BDM to account manage an portfolio of existing accounts but also to focus on creating opportunities with new customers.
Method
Providing they had a proven record of door opening, candidates could come from any market sector. Our consultant used internet advertising to attract candidates. All selected underwent a thorough competency based interview
Result
A candidate shortlist of 3 was presented with one being successfully recruited.
