Product Manager - Optical Lenses

Our client is the UK subsidiary of a $2 billion global company renowned for the innovation and manufacture of spectacle lenses.
Objective
Following an internal promotion, there was a vacancy for a Product Manager within marketing. The role was to work closely with the sales team to develop and implement effective sales tools, whilst also providing accurate analysis and action plans for each customer account. It was vital that candidates had an extensive working knowledge of spectacle lenses preferably as a Dispensing Optician.
Method
Armed with 9 years' knowledge of the industry and the culture of the client, our consultant used a combination of Headhunting and Advertising Led Selection to recruit this role. A creative advert in a specialist journal generated a high quality response which was bolstered by candidates headhunted from competitor businesses. Selected candidates were assessed via competency based interviews.
Result
A candidate shortlist of 3 was delivered and a successful appointment made.
