Our client is part of a group which is a world leader in the design, production and distribution of construction materials. They deliver innovative products and services around the globe. This division is a national market leader operating at the front end of the supply chain. They are involved in the excavation and processing of raw materials for use in a variety of applications.

Objective
To search for a candidate that could direct and manage engineering activities at the mine ensuring optimal safety and production performance. This was a management level position responsible for a team of 12  people. The site was a gypsum mine so the working environment was mainly below ground. As there was also a commercial element to the role it was important to find a candidate who was able to implement strategy, be financially astute and be a strong credible manager.

Collingwood face to face interviewed a long list of candidates before presenting a fully qualified shortlist of 3 candidates.
