Group Sales Director - Automotive Engineering

Our client is a management buy in led automotive engineering and manufacturing business with a customer portfolio including Renault and General Motors. They are a global business with manufacturing in the UK and India.
 
Following the management buy in they identified the need to strengthen the Sales and Marketing Team and after Collingwood successfully recruited a UK Business Development Manager to knock down doors, our client created a new role for a Group Sales Director.
 
Objective
The brief was to recruit a proven hands-on Sales Director who had progressed from a technical position in precision engineering, ideally in automotive. Candidates had to be based within commuting distance of the company's West Yorkshire Head Office.
 
Method
Collingwood directly Headhunted this role by targeting competitor businesses based throughout the UK.
 
Result
A very strong candidate shortlist of 5 was presented but due to the downturn in the automotive industry our client was unable to complete the recruitment.
