A privately owned Chinese business, our client was looking to expand their waste export business further by specialising in the export of scrap metal to China from the UK.
After successfully recruiting a Waste Paper Purchasing Manager, Collingwood were tasked with finding a scrap metals specialist with excellent knowledge and contacts in the UK scrap metal market to specialise in the procurement of scrap metal. They would also develop the business from scratch and deal with transportation and logistics.
Collingwood headhunted in to an agreed target list of companies within the UK Waste Management/Metals Trading sector as well as advertising the position.  
After presenting a shortlist of four candidates within three weeks a Metals Purchasing Manager with a number of years of experience and contacts in the scrap metals market was recruited enabling the business to expand in to a new market and create new opportunities.
