Business Development Manager - Onboard Electronics
Our clients is one of the worlds leading suppliers of railway systems and services, offering products such as air conditioning, electro-mechanics, on-board electronics, platform doors and gates, braking systems, couplers and customer services. They are a true global players, with operations in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
Requirement
A new role within the UK business, the requirement was to recruit a high calibre Business (Sales) Manager to spear-head the development of the on-board electronics division. Our client needed an experienced individual from the industry, currently doing a similar role, with contacts within the major end customers. As well as being a commercial business developer and account manager, a high degree of technical competence within onboard HVAC, systems and consoles was also a necessity.
Method
With such a specific brief and a limited target market, the Collingwood Consultant engaged in a pure Headhunting campaign, which included market research, confidential approaches and promotion of our clients opportunity. Suitable individuals were then put through a competency based interview and testing.
Result
A shortlist of three high calibre individuals was presented to our client within the agreed timeframe. Two of those candidates were taken to 2nd interview stage and one successfully appointed in the role.
