Territory Sales Manager, North West - Surgical Instruments

Our client is a $7 billion global US Corporation and is a leader in a number of medical sectors including orthopaedics and endoscopy. They are consistently number one or number two in their market and have a brand renowned for product quality and excellence in customer service.

Objective
Armed with a very aggressive growth plan the company decided that it wanted to recruit a new sales team with individuals outside of the medical sector. They wanted Best in Class sales professionals from any industry who could combine business development skills with advanced key account management skills capable of successfully managing the complex NHS decision making process. In addition to the required competencies the biggest challenge was a very tight person specification.

Method
The client had already partnered a database recruitment agency who had advertised the roles so Collingwood delivered this assignment by Headhunting into Blue Chip organisations with a reputation for developing excellent sales people. In addition, networking our extensive contact base in the North West was key to our strategy. In respect of the tight person specification we conducted Behaviour Profiling on all potential candidates to ensure they had the sought after blend of culture and personality.

Result
Despite the difficult remit, a successful appointment was made.
