General Sales Manager, UK - Confectionery

Our client is a Chinese based manufacturer of Childrens' healthy eating and novelty confectionery. Established for over 50 years, the company sold globally through a portfolio of distribution partners and the CEO decided to go direct to market in a select number of countries including the UK.
 
Objective
The brief was to recruit a General Sales Manager to set-up the UK subsidiary. Candidates had to have a proven record of new business development and account management for confectionery products with all sales channels. These included garage forecourts, multiple retailers, wholesale and cash and carrys. In addition, the role required an individual capable of autonomously establishing and running the UK business.
 
Method
Collingwood directly Headhunted this role by targeting competitor and associated businesses in the confectionery industry. We face to face, competency interviewed and behaviourally assessed long listed candidates throughout the UK before presenting a shortlist to our client within 5 weeks.
