Head of Customer Solutions - Aerospace Service Provider

Our client is a UK based global service provider to the Aerospace sector. Their clients include major organisations such as Rolls-Royce, Pratt & Whitney and Goodrich. . With over forty years’ experience, they consistently offer competitively priced products, world class performance, the highest quality standards and unparalleled customer service.

THE BUSINESS CHALLENGE

The business is going through a substantial growth program as part of their value-add proposition to clients.  As such the Head of Customer Solutions position was a newly created role with two key objectives in mind; the management of a key global customer at a senior strategic level and the day to day management of the customer account team.

THE ROLE

The Head of Customer Solutions is a multi-dimensional role meaning that knowledge of strategic account management, business development and supply chain & logistics was a pre-requisite for consideration. This coupled with the requirement of candidates coming from a recognised industry leader set the Collingwood Consultant with challenging yet interesting search criteria.

THE SOLUTION

Collingwood started the recruitment search, by producing an assignment specification for the role, this included company information, job description, candidate profile and remuneration package details. The document confirmed to our client that Collingwood had fully understood their requirements.

Using their experience and knowledge of the industry, our consultant compiled and presented a list of target companies to the client.  From this agreed list, key individuals were identified and approached confidentially to discuss the opportunity.

A candidate shortlist of 4 was presented to our client along with individual interview reports and behavioural assessments.  The supporting documentation identified motivation for wanting to work for our client and highlighted synergies between our clients and candidates values.

THE RESULT

The Operations Director and HR Manager met with the 4 candidates for the first stage interview process. From this one candidate was selected and progressed to the next stage where in-depth assessment and a presentation took place.

The client offered the position to the candidate and as with all our assignments Collingwood managed the contract negotiations through to completion.
